McMonagle Spelling

The Big YinAs promised, I am now hot on your tail for information. I need you to do a little work of your own to assist maintain the McMonagle record books. Once again I assure you that this information is for my records and not for internet viewing. Photographs however are different and a great way for me to put faces to names, as well as being a visual record for myself they go a long way to making themcmonagles and homestead.com sites more appealing to McMonagles and guests alike.

Rather than contact everyone individually, I have compiled this e-mail to guide you along the way.

Certificates

I'm looking for certificates - I know I've asked before, but hey! I'm persistent. I have some hand written versions which I copied from the record offices, but these only act as guides to dates/ families etc which I use when I'm researching. I would like copies of the originals. If you supply the documentation it saves me spending hours in the records office ploughing through records just to find info that you could pass on with an e-mail or for the price of a stamp.( It costs me between £8 - £10 for a copy of a certificate.) I look forward to seeing your certificates and photographs. If you need to speak to me, then please drop me a line or give me a call. If you don't have a particular certificate, but you can put me in touch with a family member who may have them, then again please let me know. This is particularly relevant to our oversees McMonagles. I have spent hours surfing for information only to find that a distant cousin had the certificate I was looking for and had it scanned and posted to me within two days!

The McMonagle Record book which I keep has nearly 200 certificates to date and is way short of what I should have, given the amount of people that are currently listed in the tree - any help would be greatly appreciated.

So once again this is what I am looking for:

    • Birth Certificates - For every member of your family including Non-McMonagle wife/husband
Baptismal Certificates - Gives location / sponsor information (good research information), include non-McMonagle members.
Wedding Certificates - Contain loads of info. Married more than once? Certificates even more important.
Burial Certificates - You may be holding a plot certificate which contains loads of info. Dig them out!

Photographs

www.themcmonagles.com and www.mcmonagle.homestead.com will merge a little bit more and we have ideas for future galleries. To that end the following type of photos will assist with these projects as well as giving me mugshots for my Record book.
Where possible please end some of the following photos:

  1. 1. Headshots of all members of your family.( don't be shy now ) no one is more un-photogenic than me!!!!!
    2. Group shots from weddings preferably including the bride / groom
    3. You at a famous location.
    4. You with someone famous.
    5. You with a particularly loud shirt / bad hair day / embarrassing facial expression.
    6. Photographs you're proud of........winning something / graduation day / birth of child
    7. Any other photos you might think will be of interest to us.......locations that no longer exist / school class photos.

and finally................ to all the researchers around the world that I deal with. You know what I look like, now it's your turn. Send those mugshots and let's put together a fantastic collection of McMonagles around the world.
